Stena Line: adds fourth Ferry on Service Gdynia, Poland to Karlskrona, Sweden

Stena Nordica returns to KarlskronaStena Line has expanded the capacity between Karlskrona and Gdynia with the ropax vessel Stena Nordica.

Stena Nordica started traffic between Karlskrona and Gdynia on October 6th as the fourth regular ship on the line. This means a further capacity increase on the line to meet strong demand.

Four ships serving Poland - Sweden route

Previously, the line was trafficked by Stena Vision, Stena Spirit and Stena Baltica as well as inchartrade Gute, which only carried rolling cargo (Trucks) and no Passengers.

Gute was already returned a while ago and with Stena Nordica the line is run by four RoPax vessels. This gives both freight and passengers access to up to four departures per day from each port. The number of departures per week is now 46 which Stena Line states is more than ever before.

"We have had strong growth in recent years, and still notice a strong demand for capacity from both freight customers and passengers. This means that we need to continue investing and adjusting our tonnage to match our customers' needs, and inserting Stena Nordica is an important step in this, "says Marek Kiersnowski, head of Stena Line's lines between Sweden and Poland.

Strategically important
"Our lines between Sweden and Poland are strategically important for Stena Line and this investment is well in line with our growth strategy and helps us maintain our strong market position with Baltic Port in Karlskrona and the new terminal in Gdynia as important ports for both freight and passengers, says Marek Kiersnowski.

Stena Nordica was built in 2000 and has been upgraded and modernized both internally and externally. She previously sailed on Karlskrona-Gdynia line from 2004 to 2008 she sailed on Karlskrona-Gdynia.

"Since Stena Nordica has sailed on the line, we know that she works well here. In addition, the ship is well-liked by our customers. Another great advantage is that she is adapted for loading via two-level ramps, which significantly reduces loading and unloading time, says Marek Kiersnowski.
