AIDA CRUISES: Arson suspected onboard AIDAnova newbuild, Police started investigation

fire on cruise ship AidaNova in Groningen's Eemshaven on Wednesday morning.The police started an investigation into the cause of the fire, at the request of the captain, local TV Station RTV Noord reported.
The ship will remain in the harbor during the investigation. A planned six days long sea trial was canceled. AIDA cruises also canceled pre-inauguration cruises. AIDAnova will depart Hamburg for her Maiden Voyage on December 2nd, 2018
Around 3 thousand people work onboard the AidaNova, most of whom stay on board overnight. Due to the fire, Shipbuilder Meyer Werft decided to book hotel rooms for the staff.
